Hi everyone

Is there a way to show the current EMS Code stored in a MEMS 2J or MEMS 1.6?
I only see the option in the 5AS module of pscan.

Background, I have a 5AS installed in my Mini but its not accessible anymore but still sends the EMS so the ECU is fine.
Instead of replacing the 5AS with a new one, I would like to build a little dummy device sending my code. I know there was such a device on the market, but the developer doesn't answer anymore :(

It would save me hours knowing the code to match it with the signal from the 5AS in the analyzer

Thnx,
Christian

I'm afraid not. I don't think that a T4 can do that either.

All you can do is read the EMS from the 5AS, and then in the engine ECU learn it. The EMS in the 5AS is now the one that the engine ECU has.

At least with a T3 you cannot make this code visible.

Thank you guys for trying!

Reading the EMS from the 5AS doesn't work anymore. The box is nearly broken.

How life goes, just had a phone call from the developer of the dummy devices, he's still in business.

I can highly recommend the nice Dummy and have this also in my car since a couple of years and no trouble any more!
But it replaces the immobiliser function completly.

If you have a pscan tool then swapping out the 5AS is no big deal.

You just buy a used one from a similar car, set the EMS to be what you want, code in your keys and then log into the engine ECU and learn the EMS.

If the current 5AS is failing then it seems like only a matter of time before it will leave you stranded somewhere.

Lastly I would personally prefer not to remove the immobiliser from a classic car, as the physical security is quite poor. Classic cars have become a bit of a target for car thieves due to the poorer security and the value of used parts.

Same here, works for years now in my MPI.
Good to hear he's still in business.

I'm working on a full 5AS replacement to simulate alarm functions, and optional bluetooth for security for a few weeks now.
Ralf is so kind to provide the EMS Code chip to include with my project.
